Can you believe it’s October already? Before I tell you about all of the ANSYS webinars and events for the week, I wanted to stop and pay tribute to what is my favorite month of the year. Some pretty cools things have happened in October. For instance:
- Thomas Edison began the first successful demonstration of his electric light on October 19, 1879.
- Orville Wright became the first to fly an aircraft for over 33 minutes on October 4, 1905.
- The first Model T Ford was offered for sale on October 1, 1908.
- The Space Age began as the Soviet Union launched “Sputnik,” the first man-made satellite, into earth orbit on October 4, 1957.
The list goes on, but each of these represent great feats of engineering. As each of you progress in your engineering careers, I wonder what will be added to that list for the great endeavors you are working on today and the innovations you will be giving to the world tomorrow.
ANSYS Webinars and Events
This week we present the third and final part to our Ask the Expert Introduction to Multiphase Models in ANSYS CFD. Part 1 of this series covered an introduction to multiphase modeling with ANSYS CFD. Part 2 of this series dealt with two of the most widely used multiphase models, the Discrete Phase Model and the Volume of Fluid (VOF) model. The final part of this series will discuss the application of the Eulerian multiphase model for dispersed flows. All multiphase models will be summarized. Our experts will also discuss best practices for matching your engineering needs to the appropriate models. (If you missed Part 1 and/or Part 2 you can view them via our ANSYS Resource Library.)
Here’s the complete list of events for the week ending October 5th.
