Engineers tasked with the design of traction motors for EV/HEVs need to consider various aspects of the physics like electromagnetics, structural and thermal, as well as its integration with power electronics/inverter. ANSYS Mechanical has a user-friendly GUI for managing all aspects of mechanical simulation (e.g., importing CAD models, applying boundary conditions, solving, post-processing results, etc.). However, as the need for simulating larger, more complex models continues to grow, more efficient ways to manage these models is warranted. Mechanical 14.5 contains several new interface management tools (e.g., tags, tree filtering, connection matrix, and object generator). One set of these tools enable users to more effectively search the GUI and identify items to be displayed or hidden in the Outline Tree. Another set of tools provide the user with more robust control of geometry entities for such actions as duplicating, scoping, and grouping. This webinar will explain how the new tools can be used to more efficiently manage models in Mechanical 14.5.
